Original Oil on Canvas Madonna and Child Religious Art

This is one of the very nice works of art we have in our art gallery. The subject of this amazing piece is Madonna with child. This piece was part of the private collection of Cardinal Richard Cushing (1895-1970). The Cardinal served as Archbishop of Boston and was a close friend of the the Kennedy Family. He officiated at the marriage of John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Lee Bouvier in 1953. He baptized many of the Kennedy children. Cushing also gave the prayer invocation at Kennedy's inauguration in 1961. The Cardinal also celebrated President Kennedy's funeral Mass in 1963 at St. Matthew's Cathedral in Washington, D.C. and the day before the funeral, he gave a televised eulogy for the assassinated President. This like all the other pieces from the Cardinal's personal collection is a very nice piece. The framed work measures about 38"X43.5".
