Grandfather clock, Herscede Grandfather Clock Panama Pacific International Exposition Grand Prize 1915
This amazing granfather clock is a great piece from the early 1900's. It looks awesome, it's a model 726 moon phase triple chime two column with nine tubes. This grandfather clock has a metal plaque inside that states "The Herschede Hall Clock Co. Cincinnati Ohio USA Panama Pacific International Exposition 1915 Grand Prize". This is a great item and a way to own an item associated with America's History. The Panama-Pacific International Exposition (PPIE) was a world's fair held in San Francisco, California between February 20 and December 4 in 1915. Its ostensible purpose was to celebrate the completion of the Panama Canal, but it was widely seen in the city as an opportunity to showcase its recovery from the 1906 earthquake. The fair was constructed on a 635 acre (2.6 km²) site in San Francisco, along the northern shore now known as the Marina.
