This is an antique fireplace fireback received in an estate sale. Based on the condition of the fireback, it looks like it's never been used. There is no visible wear or usage outside of the natural rusting that occurs with iron. It's approximately 12' x 17.5' in size and weights around 23 lbs. Cast iron firebacks protect the back wall of the hearth from decay – fires can make even the most modern materials vulnerable to damage.
