FROM THE KWAI TO THE KINGDOM
Andy Milliken.
Andy Milliken spent three years as a prisoner of the japanese working on the bridge over the River Kwai. He did not know God, and he knew of no other Christians in the camp. Yet amazingly, God spoke to him one day through his one and only possession: a battered pocket New Testament which had belonged to his father. God told him that the prisoners would be free after a certain time.
Cautiously, Andy calculated when that would be, and lived for the day. August 16th, 1945 dawned, a day of expectancy, and before sunset the announcement was made, 'The war is over...' From that moment, Andy knew God to be real and in his book tells of his faithfulness in those difficult years and in his life and advertising career since.
