You are bidding on a Very Fine to NM- High Grade copy of the So Much Fun! inc Variant issue of Superman The Man of Steel.
As is widely known these So Much Fun! Variant issues are very rare and have a limited print run of about 5000 copies.
Written and drawn by John Byrne, with inks by Dick Giordano.
Published just a few months after Crisis on Infinite Earths, John Byrne's The Man of Steel updated the saga of Superman for modern audiences. His origin was altered, as were many other aspects of the character. This first issue reveals that Kal-El was conceived via the mingling of seeds in a matrix chamber, Clark's powers developed slowly over time (meaning Superboy was written out of continuity), and Superman's body projected an aura that protected his now vulnerable costume.

***Full Disclosure***I feel that this comic would grade higher, however it has a perfect straight fold in the front cover right down the middle from top to bottom which does not appear in the scan. The book must be removed from the bag to even detect the fold. The fold only affects the front cover, no other pages are folded. This fold does not break color. This book can easily be pressed, at which time I feel it would grade in the 9.6 - 9.8 range.
