Description 剧情	西汉末年，朝廷中外戚当权，宰衡太傅大司马王莽总揽朝刚，逼太皇太后交出御玺，立自己为“摄皇帝”。太皇太后诏武帝玄孙南阳刘演入宫密谋反莽。一家却遭王莽灭门。在长安太学读书，一心报效朝廷的刘秀义愤填膺，独闯高祖庙行刺王莽，幸被刘演和邓禹等所救。刘室宗族也因此被逐出长安。为避追杀，刘秀藏身与刘家结有宿怨的阴家庄。十几年前，刘秀与阴家女儿阴丽华本有婚约，但阴父误助王莽，刘家毁婚。此次再相逢，阴丽华一曲《苏武牧羊》让刘秀意识到“仕宦当为执金吾，娶亲当娶阴丽华”但家仇在身，国仇未报，刘秀怎敢安于儿女私情？   在阴家庄，刘秀为饥民请愿暴露身份，阴家也因窝藏刘秀被王莽逼入长安。刘秀兄弟创建汉军，担任反莽兴汉大业。为求御玺，刘秀独闯长安见太皇太后，途中结识卖酒姑娘佘赛兰。佘赛兰对刘秀一见倾心，但刘秀念念不忘的却是阴丽华。太皇太后临死前派人御玺出宫欲将其传给刘秀，但御玺却阴错阳差落在刘秀的同宗堂兄弟刘玄手中，于是，围绕着御玺，众人展开一场较量。汉军一路高歌，莽军败退。刘秀也从一介书生成长为一员勇将。但刘秀与阴丽华的爱情却遭到对刘秀另有期盼的刘演极力反对。就在汉军准备拥立刘演为王之时，刘玄设计离间，逼走刘秀，挟持阴丽华，篡夺汗军大权。   为救兄长，刘秀率十三骑闯四十二万莽军大营，联络赤眉，保住昆阳，兄弟和解，情人相聚，为兴汗大业，刘秀忍辱负重率领人马杀奔长安。王莽被杀，刘玄称帝，刘演心有不甘却遭杀身之祸。刘秀终于明白要让天下百姓安生，必要有明君当朝。为图霸业，刘秀强颜欢笑，迎娶阴丽华，迷惑刘玄找到机会逃出长安，不带一兵一卒过黄河，以一桩政治婚姻换来十万铁骑，灭王朝，邯郸登基。此时刘玄被赤眉所灭，天下再乱。刘秀率兵西进，一统山河，终于成就霸业，创建东汉政权。
