Jefferson Hotel Sterling Christmas Ornament 1994 Hand and Hammer #1594. This Sterling Silver collectible depicts Richmond's Jefferson Hotel which is affectionately known to generations of Richmonders and world dignitaries. Major Lewis Ginter, Visionary and local benefactor built and opened the Jefferson on October 31, 1895. The renaissance inspired architecture was the work of Carrere and Hastings of New York. The public areas include the majestic Grand Staircase and the Palm Court with a stained glass dome over the statue of Jefferson sculpted by E.V. Valentine.
