The
design for this Sterling Silver piece was adapted from the Index of
American Design which consists of over 18,000 watercolor renderings of
American folk and decorative art objects dating from colonial times to
the late nineteenth century. These highly accurate watercolors were
made between 1935 and 1942 as part of the United States Federal Arts
Project. The collection is available for study at the National Gallery
of Art, Washington.
