Harvard University Gates Sterling Christmas Ornament 2000.   Boston is world famous as a seat of higher education.  The city and its immediate suburbs are the home of some of America's colleges and Universities. The design for this handmade Sterling Silver collectible was inspired by the Johnston gates which stands at the entrance to Harvard University.   Completed in 1889, and built in the Georgian Revival style, Johnston Gate is one of many entrances of Harvard University campus in Cambridge.  Johnston Gate connects Harvard Yard to Massachusetts Avenue and Harvard Square.   Johnston Gate is named after Samuel Johnston, an alumnus of Harvard (class of 1855), who donated $10,000 for its construction. Designed by the New York architectural firm of McKim, Mead, and White, it is one of most photographed locations in Harvard University campus.

The size of this ornament is about 1-5/8"  X  2".  This Sterling Silver Ornament is in Excellent like new collectible.  It has a place for a hook to hang on your tree. Perfect size to wear as a pendant on a chain or ribbon.
