Leaping Ibex Sterling Christmas Ornament. Adapted
from a Near Eastern relief panel of the 6th century A.D. The panel
depicts two ibexes climbing a vine to get to the leaves. The ibex is a
species of wild goat boasting saber shaped backward curving horns. They
have been recorded by artists in the Near East from the third
millennium B.C. in Ur and Susa. The ibex represents strength and
continuity in nature.
This item was originally made for Museum of fine Arts Boston. The size of this ornament is about 1-3/4" X 2-1/4". This item is in Like New collectible condition. Comes with all original packaging. Hand and Hammer ornaments are the perfect size to wear on a chain as a pendant. Hand Made in the USA.
