Noah's Ark Sterling Silver Christmas Ornament 2011 Towle 3rd Edition.  Noah's Ark  is a vessel appearing in the Book of Genesis (chapters 6-9) and the Quran. These narratives tell us that the ark was built by Noah at God's command to save himself, his family, and the world's animals from the worldwide deluge of the Great Flood.  When Noah and the animals are safe on board, God sends the Flood, which rises until all the mountains are covered and all life on Earth is destroyed.

Although Towle Silversmiths was not founded until 1857 (as Towle & Jones) and then 1873 (as A.F. Towle & Son); its progenitors included several members of the Moulton family, whose silversmiths dynasty is claimed to have the longest continuous span of silversmithing of any American family. From father to son, this family produced silversmiths for two hundred years.  Over the years, Towle has created numerous sterling silver flatware patterns in the United States: including "Old Master" in 1942, now considered by some to be the company’s flagship pattern.

The size of this ornament is about  3” diameter.  The Towle Noah’s Ark Series started in 2009.  This is the 3rd Edition.  It is double sided. The front side shows a different animal each year.  2011 has Elephants. It is marked Towle, Sterling, 2011.  This Sterling Silver Ornament is in Excellent like new collectible condition.  Comes with all original packaging, pouches and certificates.  The Ornament has a place for a hook to hang on your tree.
