This is a really charming folk art homestead painting probably inspired by Grant Wood's "American Gothic"....
Direct your eye to the photograph of the charming couple standing by the yard in their house.
This type of folk art which combines photo and painting is very rare.
The painting is in overall very good condition, but the photo is missing a piece as you can see from this ebay photo (half of the husband is torn away). We can only guess if this was the original condition of a cherished photograph when it was placed into the painting, or something that happened later.

The couple is standing behind the fence in their yard which has been painted over the photo. This MUST be seen in high res photo or in person - ebay photo does not do this piece justice!
