Forefront's
Mixdown presents CCM and alternative CCM hits in a dance-mix format.
Even though the mix generally leans toward dance-pop and very basic
trance, hip-hop, and house styles, it still works surprisingly well,
especially on tracks like Audio Adrenaline's "Big House," Stacie
Orrico's "Ride," Out of Eden's "Different Now," and dc Talk's "Socially
Acceptable." The collection almost loses its credibility with the
cheesy, untitled closing track, which basically just serves as an
advertisement for the album after the fact. Nevertheless, Mixdown's
reinterpretations of songs by Smokie Norful, Switchfoot, Rebecca St.
James, and Tobymac as club tracks are still pretty impressive. Overall,
the album should please CCM fans looking for a new twist on tracks from
their favorite artists. |
