The Pro-Fill Single Point Watering system is specifically designed for use with “golf car” style batteries commonly found in golf cars, sweepers, scrubbers, RV’s, pallet jacks, and small solar systems.  Based on the same technology as our Millennium valves, our Pro-Fill system is compatible with all of our Millennium water supplies.  The Pro-Fill SPW system works by replacing the batteries existing vent caps with patented valves that are interconnected with tubing, allowing the user to fill all cells of the battery from a single remote location.    Each valve independently shuts off water flow to the cell when the proper electrolyte level is reached, allowing the batteries to be filled perfectly every time without even having to look at the batteries.

Pro-Fill Features and Benefits
Pro-Fill™ onboard battery watering system is the only system that has been specifically designed for the golf car/utility vehicle application. At a glance, many of the superior features are evident. Everything from the patented manifolds, standard flame arrestors, three port swivel, and clampless polypropylene tubing, to the new easy install winged caps. But what’s even more impressive is the structure inside the valve.

The Pro-Fill™ valve is capable of working independent of water pressure (3-35 static PSI, with 2 GPM flow rate), allowing you to use a variety of water supply options. In addition, the Pro-Fill™ valve includes a built in water barrier to block the propagation of a flame front from entering adjacent cells in the event of accidental cell gas ignition, while each valve includes an external flame arrested de-gas chamber as a standard.

                                                                                                                                      >
Flame Arrestor
Our flame arrestor inside of each valve makes Pro-fill™ the safest battery watering system on the planet. Approved by major battery manufacturers, Pro-fill™ has this built-in safety feature that is necessary for all applications such as golf car, utility vehicle, Sweeper, Scrubber, Pallet Jack, or anywhere batteries are used in an enclosed space or otherwise potentially dangerous environments.
Patented Manifold

Our patented manifold provides for the quickest and easiest installation period!
Winged Valves

Our latest development, Winged Valves, makes installation even quicker and easier than before. Buy a precut kit and leave your tools at home. With the pre-cut Pro-Fill system, no tools are necessary for installation.
3 Port Swivel

Our patented 3-Port Swivel rotates a full 360 degrees allowing for the most versatile installation. No more worries about kinked tubing or the need for extra plumbing fittings. The swivel also integrates an easy in, hard out design to protect the 0-ring
Clampless Polypropylene Tubing

Our patented clampless tubing installs in half the time of clamp style tubing and holds twice as good. Unlike clear PVC tubing, our patented tubing will not break down and cause system failure.
Wide Pressure Range

With Pro-Fill’s™ patented technology, you don’t have to buy expensive water supplies to generate high pressure and flow. Our variable pressure system will work from 3 to 35 PSI (static) with minimum flow rate of 2 GPM.
Internal Water Lock

Perhaps the most important and least known feature of the Pro-Fill™ valve, the internal water lock prevents gases from traveling between cells. In the event of a fire, this eliminates the possibility of flame propagation between cells via the watering system.
Chimney Shroud

The shroud protects the internal displacer from damage. Whether it be from plate growth, during installation, shipping, or any other time. It further protects the valve from foreign particles in the battery entering and “clogging” the water system.
Acid Resistant Components

Just like our predecessor systems, all Pro-Fill™ components are made of Polypropylene. This means all materials are acid, temperature, and impact resistant.

Pro-Fill Frequently Asked Questions

When is the best time to fill my batteries?

  • Water after charge.  For fast charge applications fill after equalize.
Electrolyte levels drop during discharge and rise during charge. In addition, charging generates heat, fluid expansion and explosive gases.  Watering a battery before charge (or with a low charge level) can lead to boil over resulting in potential damage of the watering system, battery and vehicle.
Water must always be added after fully charging the battery. Prior to charging, there must be sufficient water to cover the plates. If the battery has been discharged (partially or fully), the water level should still be above the plates.

How often should I fill my batteries?

  • Watering intervals are dependent on the local climate, charging methods, application, and age of batteries.  Flow-Rite recommends that new batteries be checked once a month and older batteries be checked weekly until you get a feel for your water consumption rate.

Typically for a heavy use application, we recommend watering a maximum of once per week, and for light use applications once per month.  Generally it is best to water on Wednesdays for most applications.  Specifically you should not water a battery that has been sitting for an extended period of time with no activity (non use or not on charge) such as a battery that has sat over the weekend.  It is best to water a warm battery that has just been fully charged.

How long does it take to install a Pro-Fill kit?

  • A typical installation will take an inexperienced person on average 1 minute per battery.

How do I know when my battery needs water?

  • Flow-Rite Controls recommends that you fill your batteries on a regularly scheduled basis.  You can keep track using our Battery Refill Records or a separate log.  If watering you batteries on a set schedule is not possible we recommend using a Level Lite or Optical Level indicators to let you know when your battery requires watering.

What are the operating specifications for the Pro-Fill valve?

  • Operating Requirement of Pro-Fill SPW system:
    Flow-Rate: 2-5 gallons per minute*
Pressure Range : 3-35 PSI (no flow, static)
    Temp. Range: 32º - 150º F (0º - 65.5º C)

    Water supply Operating Requirements:
Inlet Pressure Range 40-100 PSI (no flow, static)
    Temp. Range 33º - 150º F (1 - 65.5º C)

All product specifications should be met for proper operation of your Flow-Rite SPW system.  Contact battery supplier or Flow-Rite Controls if you have any questions regarding product specifications or how to verify a water supply.

*Flow rate should be measured at the end of a purger (female / male coupler combination).

Do I need to remove the Pro-Fill system from my batteries in the winter?

  • No your Pro-Fill system is designed to be left on your batteries while your vehicle is in winter storage; however, the system will not be operational while it is frozen.

If you have vehicles that are taken out of service or put into storage for a period of 6 weeks or longer, your single point watering system will require seasonal maintenance.  No special steps need to be taken for weatherization of the SPW system that is mounted on the batteries; however, the following steps need to be followed when bringing your vehicle back into service:
    1. After the batteries have been fully charged / equalized, connect the system to its water supply for 3-5 seconds then disconnect regardless of whether or not the batteries are completely full.
    2. Return the vehicle to its regular service
    3. Place the vehicle back into its regular watering schedule (waiting at least 1 week until next watering).

How many batteries can I fill at one time?

  • You can fill a total of four 12-volt batteries, or a total of eight 6-volt batteries or a total of six 8-volt batteries or any other combination of batteries up to 24 cells at one time.
