Up for auction is this stunning reprint done by Fergus Clunie at the Fiji Museum in 1985 that encompasses the Fijian part of this famous Expedition under Charles Wilkes Commander. 438 pages in length, it has lots of great illustrations of people and artifacts and also includes a large map that was issued in a separate folio that measures 35" x 25 1/4". Considered the most important ethnographic account on the Fijian people in the 19th century, it was reprinted by the museum in a quantity of 1000 as the original volumes are so rare and elusive.
