This is an absolutely beautiful majolica tea or dessert set by William Alsager Adderley that was produced sometime between 1876 and 1905 when the initials WAA was used to mark his pottery. The pattern, called Floribel, is a floral spray with a butterfly flitting around. The set is comprised of a large teapot, covered sugar bowl, two cake plates, 6 dessert plates and 6 fruit bowls and 6 cups and 6 saucers for a total of 30 pieces. Although it is in unused condition, the teapot lid has a crack that looks as if it occurred during the manufacturing process that I have photographed.
