Welcome....and...Thank You for stopping by to 'take a peek' at my item for sale.
This belonged to my Grand Father and considering it is approximately 84 years old is in excellent condition.
I assume this is the 'badge' they wore when attending meetings, the three loops in the medallion part have the letter 'F' 'L' 'T' inside which stands for Friendship, Love, and Truth.
It is the 'badge' (for lack of a better word) for the Covesville Lodge No. 309, which is where my Grand Father lived all of His life, everybody called Him 'Uncle Jerry', whether He was really their Uncle, or not. Which, when I was a Kid, I thought that meant we were kin. :-)
The medallion is rather ornate, I'm not sure what all the symbols mean, but; I'm sure they have a meaning to members of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows organization.
If you are a collector of memorabilia for fraternal organizations, this would certainly be a nice addition since it is in excellent condition.
Sorry I don't have any more information than this for the IOOF, as to the historic value of this 'badge', but, I'm sure if you are a collector, you do.
