An exception George Sharp sugar basket, Civil War era with cast and applied beaded foot, rim and handle. Delicate and precise repousse floral decoration throughout, stippled and chased by hand, the decoration is actually still sharp to the touch. Meaning the condition is like new... sounds funny to say that about a piece this old but it's true and I'm sure you will agree once you hold it. Fully marked under the base with Bailey & Co., Lion, S, Shield and two additional lion marks on opposing sides of the base. I have left it in the original conditon that I recieved it in, I have chosen to allow the end buyer polish it correctly (by using something like Hagertys silver foam and preventing it from ever ending up near a silversmith or jeweler). This bowl has no monogram, no monogram removals, it measures about 8" high with the handle up, 4.5" high at the rim on either end, about 7.75" across and 4 3/8" wide, those are pretty good dimensions for a sugar bowl. It weighs 12.44 troy ounces.
