A fine quality Scottish sterling silver presentation ewer by Robert Gray & Son. Made in 1804, presented in 1847 with the following inscription "Presented to William Pollock Esq. by a few friends in testimony of their regard for his erections promoting a projected direct line between Ayr & Kilmarnock 1847" This piece measures just over 11" high and weighs 23 troy ounces, a couple of light dings but in excellent overall condition.
