About Zardozi Zardozi is raised colored metallic threadwork in intricate designs. Parts of it can be gold & silver toned with springs & coils. The art of Zardozi embroidery uses gold wire (zari). The process of making the gold wire (zari) is extremely intricate and involves heating the gold wire and a silver bar in the furnace to form an alloy. Gold-coated silver wire is extruded from this alloy and this wire when wrapped around a silk thread forms ?zari?. Small patterns take days to finish. Large, extensive patterns are completed over weeks. Hanging a Tapestry - In general, tapestries look best when hung 4"-6" away from the wall. - Best when matching hanging rod, finials & drapery rings with clips are used. - Ideal viewing distance is 8'-12'.
