Up for grabs is another genuine piece of 70's chopper history: CUSTOM PAINTED BSA COFFIN CHOPPER TANK.

This is the ultimate garage hanger conversation piece or with a little work a tank that will truly make that period 70's BSA chopper build one of a kind!
CONDITION:
Please look at all of the supersized pictures and use the zoom feature to make your own final judgement, I have tried to highlight the item from all angles. Here is the condition as I see it:
- Tank is in overall good shape for its age.
- Heavy gauge steel body is in great shape with no dings or dents and the inside is clean on the sides with only light surface rust on the bottom.
- Front mounting tab is broken and rear mounting tab has been drilled out more than once, see photos 7 & 10 (tank looks to have originally been blind mounted with threaded studs that can be partially still seen in photo 11).
- Paint is dark metallic blue and an iridescant pearl white with gold trim and hand pinstriping and lettering on the top and side panels. The paint has plenty of little knicks, chips, and scrapes but nothing really major (look closely at all of the photos). In my opinion it has the perfect patina that's not too beat up to run on a nice bike, but still tells a story no brand new paint job can.
- No gas cap or petcocks included.
FITMENT:
- This is a custom piece and will need to be custom fitted to your application. As mentioned the front mounting tab is broken/missing, my recommendation would be to remove both mounting tabs underneath and weld back on some long threaded pieces to blind mount the tank through the backbone/frame.
