Up for grabs is a single vintage 1970's BATES LARGE FINNED 1.5" EXHAUST HEADER CLAMP.
HISTORY:
Bates Industries filed for Patent # D217052 in 1969 and manufactured a very small number of the large finned exhaust clamps (See photos 3, 4, 7, 8 for the Patent # stamp on the clamps). The Bates clamp is easily recognizable for its larger size and the increased number of fins as well as the different fin shape, which really sets the fin apart from the standard "large finned" clamps that are easily found on the market and also gives these extra cooling power.
CONDITION:
Please take a careful look at all of the pictures and make your own final determination on the condition, I have taken the time to take as many detailed pictures as possible so buyer knows exactly what they are getting.
The clamp is in overall excellent condition with no cracks, chips, or broken fins.
The clamp was previously spray painted black and much of the paint is now gone. The clamp will need to be soda blasted to remove the remaining paint or re-painted.
FITMENT:
This clamp is designed to fit any application that utilized slip over style exhaust clamps (such as most old Brit bikes) and is running 1.5" diameter exhaust pipe.
This is an extra SINGLE (1) clamp I have listed for anyone who may have one that needs a mate, or has a chipped/broken one that needs to be replaced. Could also be used on a single cylinder bike or a triple (if purchased with the pair I have listed separately, see my store for that listing)
