Up for grabs is an authentic Large Pan (14.5" wide) Early Model BATES LEATHER SEAT WITH BATES BIKE LOGO STAMP in great condition with tons of riding time left on it!  

This is the hardest to find Bates seat/pan size and perfect for that period correct Knucklehead, Panhead, Shovelhead or Indian.

Has the early model Bates Bike Logo stamp in the leather on top! (See photo 2) 

With too may fakes and too many questionable "authentic" Bates seats out there buy with confidence that you're getting a genuine Bates!

 

CONDITION:

Please take a careful look at all of the pictures and make your own final determination on the condition, I have taken the time to take as many detailed pictures as possible so buyer knows exactly what they are getting. 

-Leather cover is in great condition for its age and still has many more years of ride time.  Amazing patina to the old leather with only 1 small tear on the underside where the leather wraps over the pan at the vey back of the seat (see photo 11).

-Seat pan is in excellent solid shape.  Front mounting bolts are both intact and the early style pivot mount is attached.  Does have 2 sets of rear mounts, one set that was chopped off and the one set with the barrel springs currently attached, I cannot tell which set (if either) is or was the original as both show signs of poor welding (but then again this is a very early model seat).  Please take a look at photos 6-9.
