Rare antique railroadiana plaque, medal with a first 3 phase electric engine and a portrait of an important hungarian train inventor Kando Kalman ( 1869 - 1931 ). Kando the genius inventor started his career in Paris as an engeneer in a factory where Nicola Tesla's induction motor was produced in Europe. He invented a new technology to produce electric motors with better efficiency. Later he was asked to establish an electric motor factory in Budapest Hungary by Ganz Inc. In 1894, developed high-voltage three phase alternating current motors and generators for electric locomotives; he is known as the father of the electric train. More details on wikipedia.
