This is the Complete 15-page Color Guide to the story
"The Origin of Superman!"
as it appeared in the treasury-size Amazing World of Superman, Official Metropolis Edition that was put out by DC Comics in 1973. Scripted by E. Nelson Bridwell.
**Want to know how these Awesome Color Guides ended up being Displayed on the walls of Bridwell's Home?**
Those at DC had all 15 pages of the color guides of this landmark tale matted and presented to to E. Nelson Bridwell, Carmine Infantino (layouts), Curt Swan (pencils), and Murphy Anderson (inks), all Silver Age DC GREATS put their best into this masterpiece.
Before I go on...Let me make it clear.. These 15 Pages are NOT reprints...These are Hand Colored (Watercolor) and therefore, One-Of-A-Kind!
They are all matted and Bridwell had them stapled on his walls at home, and moved them a few times. There is some wear, staple holes, and bit of bumping on the matting Personally, I would have them framed behind glass, for these beauties would be stunning, can be easily removed from current matting, and are deserving of preservation and display.
This would be the perfect item for the upper-echelon collector to have framed and hung on their hallway leading to their Fortress of Solitude!
Origin Of Superman Superman's origin has been told countless times over the years but this is THE ultimate origin, and version that was standard that reappeared often over the decades. There are 15 brilliantly colored pages that detail Kal-El's history from the impending destruction of Krypton, his escape as Jor-El and Lara placed him inside the escape rocket, and his discovery by Jonathan and Martha Kent, their discovery of his super-powers and his upbringing by them. After their death the young Superboy grieves and leaves Smallville after a going-away party of epic proportions. He finally ends up in Metropolis working at the Daily Planet with new friends, Jimmy Olsen, Lois Lane, and Perry White. The story leaves off where Supes presently stood in 1973. This is the most detailed story imaginable with most of the focus on Krypton and in Smallville.
The 15 Color Guides themselves measure 10 5/8" x 5 5/16", and matted they are 16" x 12"

Wow, They are Stunning,
Dont-Cha Think?
Although these Color Guides are in bright Beautiful Condition, it must be mentioned that some light damage is present on (some) of them..As Follows.
Page 5 has a small black smudge on the border, and part of a word balloon of the top (which looks like it might be removable, but I will leave that decision to the next owner).
Page 7 had a near invisible, thin scratch on one panel.
Page, #8, looks like Bridwell put it at the bottom of the stack at some point, got some moisture on it, and the inks bled some.
Page 9 has a few scratches on the nose of Kal-El's rocket, as can be seen below.
Despite that, these unique items are amazing!!!
