This is a button that has been really scarce, and comes from the 1976   Presidential  Primary  Campaign of 

Gov.  Ronald  Reagan

 & 

   Rep.  Richard  Schweiker.  

Gov. Reagan chose liberal Republican  Representative Richard Schweiker of Pennsylvania to be his running mate even before the Ballot Count, in a last ditch attempt to steal the Republican Nomination away from  President Ford.  This was the first  time  in  History  that any Presidential Candidate had named their  Running Mate before they were even Nominated for their  Party's Fall Ticket.

This 1 3/4th's inch cello has a white background with red and blue borders.

In the center are pictures of both Ronald Reagan & Richard Schweiker.  

On the button in white lettering the button reads:  

"AMERICA NEEDS NEW

LEADERSHIP

------

  REAGAN ~ SCHWEIKER

in  '76" .

This button is in a perfect,  mint condition.
