These showy flowers are bright blue, about an inch long, and arranged in loose whorls along the upright stem. Plant bears multiple spikes of blue flowers over a long season starting in spring. Leaves are long and toothed, soft and light green tending to silver, especially the undersides.

Blue Sage is a good bedding plant and useful in borders where brilliant color is desired. The plant can be used as a stunning blue-flowered hedge which will be in bloom for months. It can be used at the back of a border and in combination with a great many other flowering annuals and perennials for an English cottage garden effect. It attracts butterflies and hummingbirds and maintains itself year after year without dominating or becoming invasive. This plant is drought tolerant and deer rsistant.

Seeds can be sown 1/8" deep outside spring or fall, or inside 10 - 12 weeks before last frost.

Grows to a height of 2 - 3 feet.
