The Yellow Canary Melon is a Casaba type melon that was named for the Canary Islands where they first became popular. The Yellow Canary melon features a bright yellow, oblong rind that is slightly ribbed. The interior is a rich ivory color with a pink tinge. The flesh has an extremely high sugar content and an excellent taste, but care must be taken to be sure that the melons are ripe before harvesting. The melons weigh from 4 to 6 pounds each.
