dating back to Holland in 1863 and developed by the Capucan monks; with earlier
references dating back to 1580's. Semi-dwarf bush (requires staking) with
bi-coloured pink & red flowers fading to inky blue as they mature.
Edible seeds best left for use as dry pea in soups etc. Highly attractive.
Sow late August to
November, harvest December to March
Sow in well drained, well limed soil with a lot of
organic matter. Sow 5 to 10 cm apart.
All peas (even bush peas) are best grown on chicken
wire or mesh supported between 2 m high poles.

sweetcorn, cucumbers, carrots, radishes, beans, beetroot, Brassica, celery,
lettuce, parsnip, squash
