Auction is for a MASSIVE, GALLERY QUALITY, BLACK, LACQUERED URN, with MOTHER-OF-PEARL INLAY. This ample VASE, is made of BRASS, covered with Laquer and Inlayed with Mother-of-Pearl. It is NUMBERED, on the bottom, # 190. Weighing in at about 2 kilos, packed [ approximately 4 & 1/2 pounds ], this item will be sent Expedited Shipping, with Insurance (which covers for Loss, or Theft, not breakage). Acquired recently, this URN reaches, approximately, 13 inches in stature and about 24 inches, in girth. Its inlayed Mother-of-Pearl handiwork is incredible! Pictured, in relief, is a Hare, riding on the back of a Tortoise. They appear to be underwater, surrounded by fish. At the bottom is a pinwheel, surrounded by birds. The balance of this exquisite VASE is solid black lacquer. There is one, extremely minor, natural inclusion, to the surface of the lacquer. It is a the size of a pinhead, on one side of the vase and is something that usually occurs, during the creation process and, as such, is part of the natural beauty of such a fabulous creation.
In excellent shape! No apparent, or visible damage. Any reflections, or red marks, on the body of the vase, in the photo, originate from the flash and are not on the surface.
