Pink Flowering ~Inga~ Native to Brazil Occurs in altitude forests from the State of Bahia to Santa Catarina, Brazil Pink Dwarf ~Ice Cream Bean~ Inga vulpina Benth. A little known ice cream bean having fluffy pink flowers. The fruits grow to a little over 2" and are elongated and flattened. They ripen to yellow-green. Flesh is mildly sweet.

	AKA: Dwarf Inga, Inga Hairy, and Inga Star Vessel. CLASSIFICATION AND MEANING: INGA PINK FLOWER comes from Tupi, and means "seeds soaked or soaked" because if you have a wet pulp surrounding the seeds. Family: FABACEAE Mimosaceae vulpinus,-a,-um; from L. vulpes (vulpis), fox: somehow related to a fox, fox-like, i.e. coloration, shape of an inflorescence (flower), with hair like the coat of a fox.   An evergreen tree growing to 10-20 feet. The fruits ripen from November through January in its native range. The seed of the edible Inga vulpina, after you have eaten the white fuzzy part surrounding the seeds. The black outer coating is called the testa.
Features: Shrub or tree 2-8 m tall, cylindrical branch, Shelduck-hirsute (the long rust-colored), it should be noted that the entire plant is rusty-hirsute. Stipules 3-4 mm long., Ovate, expires; petiole 1 - 2,5 cm long, rachis 3.5 to 6.8 cm long winged (with wings), Shelduck-hirsute; nectary stipitate, cupuliformic (domed) between all pairs of leaflets. Sheet 3 to 4 pairs; leaflets with 6.5 to 9.2 cm long and 2 to 3.5 cm wide. Are opposite, elliptical or lanceolate, base acute, apex acute or apiculate, adaxial surface glabrescent (almost hairless), abaxial hirsuta (with long hairs). Inflorescence espiciforme (globosa on the cob) under axillary peduncle 5-6 cm long, tomentose (covered with lanugo) Flowers are séssis (devoid of stem or stalk), formed calyx campanulate (bell-shaped) and corolla gamopétala, 10 13 mm long, externally setosa, with 50-60 stamens (pinkish fillets, male). The fruit is a vegem flat with straight edge and yellow skin surface ferruginea tomentosa (covered by long), measuring 3-6 cm long and 2 to 2.5 cm wide.
	Fruits in the months of December to April. The fruits are delicious and very refreshing to be consumed au natural, especially if left in the fridge for a few hours. The tree is ornamental and great for decorating small gardens. Bees and the flowers are very beautiful because of the pink color. For small this species can be grown in any backyard or on the case. Seedlings: Seeds greens, delicate bark and recalcitrant (loses germination vilaity quickly in 10 days). Germination occurs in 15 to 30 days, and the seedlings grow quickly reaching 35 cm at 5 to 6 months after germination. Should form the seedlings in an environment with 50% shading. The fruit below is called Vulpina. You eat the white fleshy part covering the green and red seed. It is sweet and tasted a little like Christmas.      In Bahia (Brazil), the locals cook the seed thing too and throw them in beans or eggs.
The plant grows quickly and does not require special care. Late winter pruning for shaping plant should be done, eliminating branches and shoots that begin in the base of the stem and any excess branches born facing the interior of the canopy. Fertilize regularly. Distribute nutrients to the surface 5 cm to 20 cm from the stem at the beginning of spring.
	This plant is easy to grow and fast growing, very resistant to low temperatures (down to - 3C degrees). Enjoying various types of soils, from sandy to sandy and peaty, Soil should be rich, with good moisture retention and acidic to neutral (being 5.0 to 6.2 pH). Begins to bear fruit in 3-4 years depending on the climate and cultivation. Can also be grown in the shade of other trees in the middle, but less fruits. Planting recommendations: You need to plant at least two plants for better production. Plant in full sun. The best planting time is spring, irrigate regularly after planting.

Please have potting media and a container prepared for your plant before it arrives. Shipping can be stressful on a plant, and any mistakes that you make upon arrival can stress the plant further, which is not good. Proper care is critical upon arrival. It is your responsibility to know how to care for the plant. Not every plant that I order through the mail survives, and I am aware of that and accept the risk when I order. This is the risk that you as the buyer accept, because there is no way to know what kind of conditions it will endure in the trip to your door.
