The GREAT Al Kaline signed this 1955 BOWMAN "COLOR TV" Card, number 23 in the 1955 Bowman Gum Card set, for me over 40 years ago.
Kaline's signature is in blue ballpoint pen. Small piece of tape loss on the back.
The great thing about this card is that it was issued during the year Albert William Kaline became the youngest Batting Champion ever. At age 20, he nosed out Ty Cobb. He hit .340 to win the American League batting title.
The Detroit Tigers legend is 75 and still going strong. He is in the Baseball Hall of Fame. His statue graces Comerica Park. He went from High School to Briggs Stadium, and never spent a moment in the minor leagues.
