Dock Ellis gave up one of the biggest and most publicized home runs in history - the home off the light tower hit by Reggie Jackson in the 1971 All-Star Game.
That's the season in which this card was issued. Ellis was such a star pitcher, he was honored with the National League starting assignment.
This card, number 2 in the 1971 Topps set, was signed for me in blue ballpoint pen.
Dock Ellis may be even more famous for his LSD-laced no-hitter that he pitched against the San Diego Padres the season before. He also pitched for the George Steinbrenner New York Yankees.
