Enos "Country" Slaughter was a veteran baseball campaigner. He played the outfield in several World Series' with the St. Louis Cardinals and New York Yankees.
He is most famous for his 1946 dash from first base to score the critical run against Johnny Pesky's Boston Red Sox in the 1946 World Series.
This is a 1958 Topps card, number 142 in the 1958 Topps set. The card was signed for me in the early 1980's. There is a small square of what looks like tape residue on the back.
