Fred Newman was an outstanding pitcher for the 1964 and 1965 Los Angeles Angels / California Angels.  He hurt his arm the next season, and could not recover.

He died in 1987.

Newman signed with his hometown Boston Red Sox, and was selected by the Angels in the 1960-61 expansion draft.  He had some spectacular numbers in the minor leagues.

I have had this card since it was new in the pack.  It was signed for me in 1965.  The signature is in blue ballpoint pen.
