This is a guy who has had a very interesting professional life.
Ken Harrelson, the "HAWK", signed this 1968 Topps (number 566 in the 1968 Topps set) in red ballpoint pen. It is signed "Hawk" and was signed during the 1969 season.
He played for the Kansas City A's, Washington Senators, Boston Red Sox, Cleveland Indians, and has been the general manager, then longtime broadcaster of the Chicago White Sox. He was a first baseman with the Kansas City Athletics and Senators, and famously replaced Tony Conigliaro after his beaning by playing right field in the 1967 World Series, and put up some serious numbers for the 1968 Boston Red Sox.
After Boston traded him to Cleveland during the 1969 season, Hawk seemed to lose all interest in baseball and was trying his hand at pro golf by age 29. I don't know how that turned out, but he was soon back in baseball, broadcasting for the New York Yankees and Red Sox.
