LUKE SEWELL managed the only St. Louis Browns team to make it to the World Series - where they lost to the crosstown (actually, same field!) St. Louis Cardinals.

He was a major league catcher and brother of Joe Sewell, who had some ridiculous stats...look them up sometime.

This is an unusual pairing.  Luke Sewell signed his card, no. 163...but would not card number 114.  He wrote, "THIS IS NOT MY PICTURE".

I would have preferred that he sign the card, but enjoyed what he wrote instead of his signature.  I've never found out who that catcher really was (sort of looks like Al Lopez to me).  If you look at the face, it's definitely a different player.  The cards listed online do not discuss this as a "mistake".
