Raymond Otis "Ike" Boone, the pride of San Diego's Hoover High School (alma mater of Ted Williams), was the father of Bob Boone and the grandfather of Bret Boone and Aaron Boone.

Ray Boone played for the Cleveland Indians, Detroit Tigers, Chicago White Sox, Kansas City Athletic, Milwaukee Braves, and the Boston Red Sox.

He scouted for a long time.
