This is a Mid- '60's Vintage J-45. A couple of things indicate the age of the guitar such as the serial number, the lack of 'Made in USA' stamped on the back of the headstock, and no sticker in the 'sound hole' except for a simple J-45ADJ. This guitar was supposed to have an 'adjustable bridge' as designated by the sticker in the sound hole, but it came from the Factory with the Non-adjustable bridge (much better) so it appears that it was a 'mistake' on the label. The guitar is ALL original, with no repairs or replaced parts. The neck is straight, the fretboard has plenty of life left, and there are no issues whatsoever with this guitar. The neck joints are strong and smooth, the finish is all there with minimal wear, but it does have that cool age 'cracking' all over the body. (a real relic) It is also has a RARE tobacco burst finish instead of the 'Cherry Burst' finish which was common for this period. The pickguard is also embossed with the Gibson 'Indian Head' logo (also a rarity). Beautiful vintage sound and tone that only comes with wood that has been aged for over 45 years. A very solid player or collector's piece. Good Luck and Happy Bidding!!!
