Full title reads, "History of our War With Spain Including Battles on Sea and land Containing A Graphic Account of the Destruction of the Battleship "Maine"; Dewey's great Victory at Manila; sinking of the Spanish Fleet at Santiago; Battles of San Juan and El Caney; Surrender of Santiago; Invasion of Porto Rico, and End of the War. To Which is Added A Full Account of the COnquests of Spain in America naval Battles of the United States, Etc. Etc."  Embellished with many Magnificent Engravings.


This book was published with a highly decorated gift presentation page at front, with a small pencil name written in.
Pages throughout the book are in VG clean condition. I see no spots, writing, stains or thumbprints. There is no aging or darkening. The sewn binding is loosening, especially in the front, where several pages are partially unbound. The front hinge is broken and  the spine covering is visible, although the front board is still attached to the spine. The rear hinge is also broken. Endpapers are a blue floral in a William Morris style. Hardback covers are light gray with an illustration of a sea battle on the front in red and blue. An illustration on the spine of a horse and rider, resembling Teddy Roosevelt, and gilt lettering are in good condition. Corners are rubbed, color is very good. Thick book, close to 800 pages.
