This book has very many beautiful illustrations of human and animal anatomy. It is of especial interest because of its pre-Darwinian publication, and also because of its appendix dealing with the deformities caused by women's fashions of the time, how they did all women and girls a tremendous harm. 

In brown cloth with blind embossed decorative scrolling front and back. Spine covering is missing. Underlying paper remains. There is a very well done caligraphic signature on the ffe, stating John Tonner's Book. This name also is written with quill pen at the top of the title page. The paper in the book remains mostly white with some spotting on each page. This spotting is relatively minor. The pages remain crisp and clean. Some have deckle edges and some do not. Sewn binding seems very good with no loose pages. 322 pages. 7-3/4" x 4-3/4" sized. Light wear to board edges, boards are flat and unstained, hinges are fair, no odor.
