First Edition Book, 1943, Midnight and Jeremiah, by Sterling North and Illustrated by Kurt Weise.  Great story of a boy and his black lamb, Midnight.  Rich in language, craftmanship, folklore, songs, dances and life of the hill people. Jeremiah raises his black lamb to win a blue ribbon at the fiar and the lamb is frightened into running away.  Jeremiah's search, ending in a surprising way on Christmas Eve, is touching.  Hardbound in heavy brown cloth stamped in red and black on the front cover and spine.  Charming illustrations by this popular artist.  Color illustrations also.  60 totally and 16 of which are in color!

Condition is great with no markings and the jacket is great but a little worn and darkened.  Excellent collectible!
