The car radio, developed first in the mid twenties by Powel Crosley, signifies a remarkable moment in radio history. This progression meant radio-on-the-go had truly arrived. By 1930, an antenna-equipped car was no longer a rare sight. Crosley's fascination with the idea came from his sister. She explained that once, while on a date, she longed to listen to her favorite radio programs to overcome the awkward silences between herself and her companion. And so, what came to be known as the Roamio, was invented. Crosley went on in 1952 to fashion the Coloradio, modeled after car-like features. And once again, they bring you this Crosley classic. This dashboard style beauty features an AM/FM radio, side mounted cassette deck and comes complete with a functional clock with second hand indicator.
