A.Diesinger Beer Stein R. Wagner Opera Lohengrin c.1898 Description: Beautiful and very traditional German beer stein made around 1898. I think it was manufactured by Adolf Diesinger - one of the most famous and important beer stein manufacturers aof the time. The stein is made of pottery with very specific relief decorations and a medallion on front. Hand-painted in the medallion is a scene from "Lohengrin" - the opera by Ruchard Wagner from "The Ring of Nibelungs" series. The scene shows Lohengrin - The Swan Knight. Excellent condition - some minor losses to the paint, no damage to the stein whatsoever. The lid is engraved with a presentation inscrioption and dated 1898.
