Antique German Glass Beer Stein Pitcher circa 1750 Description: Presented is a very early German drinking vessel - a beer stein or small pitcher made of blown glass with pewter mountings. The glass is hand-blown and hand-shaped. Very beautifully shaped - nice and elegant form. Attached flat-shaped handle with a swirl at the end. Hand-formed pedestal. Pewter lid with a hollow ball for the thumblift and five-ring closed type hinge. Circa 1750 - 1760. Excellent flawless condition - some glass impurities and minor age-related wear but no damage whatsoever. 10" tall to the top of the thumblift. Please note - I've been collecting antique beer steins for over 10 years - I guarantee my description and dating!
