Antique German Mold Blown Glass Beer Stein c.1860

Description: This simple but very elegant glass stein was made in late 1860 - early 1870, at the very start of industrial revolution in Germany. The makers of the stein used a new technique - the glass was blown and then put into a wooden mold to achive the "cut relief" look. The handle was applied manualy. The lid is pewter with 3-ring open hinge - that was the time when old closed hinges became obsolete and the search was on for a new, less labor intensive one. The lid is engraved with the original owner's name: "Anna Winkler". The stein is in excellent flawless condition unusual for it's age. No damage, chips or cracks. I guarantee my description and dating. It is 7" tall to the top of the thumblift, 0.5L capacity.
