Antique Sterling Silver Beer Stein Sweden c.1935 Description: This beautiful and elegant silver beer stein was made in Sweden - in a very old tradition of Scandinavian silver ware. It has the ckassic Scandinavian shape that remained the same throughout the centuries - the first Scandinavian silver steins with cylindric body, ball-shaped feet and hinged lid were made in the 1600s. It is made of solid silver with stylishly curved handle, repousse decorations on the lid and a silver coin on top dated 1934. The stein has the presentation engraving on front indicating that it was a gift to for the 70th anniversary to a director of certain company in Halmstad. The director's name was Nils Knutsson. The stein is marked with Swedish silver markings - the crown with a letter "S" state mark, "GAB" makers mark, "I8" date mark for 1935. The city mark is not very clear but looks like Orebro. The stein is 5" tall to the top of the thumblift, 4" diameter. It weights 14.2 oz. Excellent condition.
