Erharting Brewery Beer Stein L.Hohlwein Sign. c1930s Description: German beer stein from 1920s - 1930s. Made for the Erharting Brewery located in the town with the same name in Bavaria. It was designed by Ludwig Hohlwein - one of the most famous graphic designers in Germany during 1900 - 1950. A large part of his fame comes from the fact that he designed many propaganda posters during the 1934 - 1945 era including 1936 Olympic Games and some war posters. The front picture carries Hohlwein's most famous signature. The steins designed by Hohlwein that actually carry his signature are quite rare. The stein is in excellent condition.
