German Glass Beer Stein Biedermeier Period c.1830

Description: Very old German beer stein made of blown glass from around 1820 -1830 or late Biedermeier period. Made in the same techinique the glass beer steins were made for a few centuries - 1600s and 1700s. At the top and the bottom of the stein are two decorative bands made with deep stone cut technique. Pewter lid with ornate thumblift in form of kissing doves - very typical for late Biedermeier period. Heavy ornate pewter footring. Large pontil mark on the bottom of the stein. There is a tension line in the handle where it connect to the body - this is a normal issue that occurs in 90% of old glass steins. It is not a damage but technological issue. Otherwise excellent flawless condition. 8" tall, 0.7L capacity.
