Jugendstil Pewter Beer Stein designed by F.Ringer ca.1905

Description: This beautiful stein designed in the very distinctive Jugendstil (German Art Nouveau) style. It was designed by Franz Ringer - the most famous Jugendstil designer of the period. He only designed very few pewter steins and they are quite rare. The stein is shaped in very elegant and simplistic way with an ornate thumblift and a saying on front as an element of the design. The saying translates - "Three things I treasure in this world: a good drink, a pretty wife and money". The stein is 8" tall to the top of the thumblift, 0.5L capacity. Excellent flawless condition with minimal dings and age-related wear. There is a mark on the bottom but I don't know who it belongs to - I am not familiar with German pewter marks of the period.
